Mezze – a selection of small appetizers !
Doesn’t sound that exciting, right? But I am sure, if you’ve ever been to Greece, Turkey, Lebanon or parts of the Eastern Mediterranean, you should know what I am talking about. To everyone else: hold on the thought until you give it a try!
This post should provide you with all of the inspiration you need to get convinced on what makes mezze a delightfully sociable way to eat.
The small sharing plates, consisting of cold and warm, vegetarian as well as meat appetizers, are part of the culinary tradition of the Middle East, the Balkans, Greece, and North Africa, where a few dishes accompany drinks or else be served at the start of a longer, multi-course meal.
Putting together the perfect mezze platter is not complicated at all. You can do it easily on your own by mixing and matching
The pretty bowls you see here are what we created together in one of our cookery events in Dusseldorf. Alongside well-known cold staples like varieties of hummus, tabbouleh, mutabbal, muhammara, a few variations of falafel and cheese rolls were included to round the menu off for everyone to enjoy something.
Remember, mezze are all about sharing and being together! Make, share and enjoy with those you care about!
So beautiful! I eat your food with my eyes lol. The most gorgeous presentation!! I’ve actually taken a screenshot for inspiration; I want to buy all this gorgeous crockery, and a yellow table cloth too! 🤩
